Anyone know what these markings mean?

The city of Everett left some utilitarian graffiti on my street today. None of the markings line up with mine or my neighbor’s sewer line but I don’t know if that means anything.

Locate ROW= Locate right-of-way. Usually painted for utility locating in public right of way. In california it’s USA or underground service alert, in the mountain states we use U-Dig. So basically they are going to pave your front yard. Shoud be a standard 32.5' street with a 60' ROW in WA depending on how your hood was originally platted.

It’s to tell the locator service where to locate utilities - they haven’t been there yet. Five bucks you will end up several different color markings in that area in the near future. Any new construction in the area that would need a locate?

Somebody’s gonna be digging up your street soon. That’s for the underground utilities locate services to tell them where to do their locating of utilities. When a contractor is prepping to do underground work they are supposed to call out a locate of all utilities in the area so they know where not to dig. Said contractor then needs to flag or mark (typically in white) the limits of where they want those utilities marked. You should start seeing more colorful paint and flag markings in the next week.
