I have one. Think it’s a B+. Used it as a basic computer and played around with it. Not done much with it. Original plan was similar to yours

I want to buy one and turn it into a retro game machine. I really want to do it but have other expenses.

I have a 2b which I use for retro games and other assorted stuff in Raspbian as well as a couple Compute Module 3 lites which I am building some embedded systems with.

I have a 2. Use it to stream movies with. I might install a PS1 emulator on it soon. I need to practice the ‘Ring so I’m not entirely unprepared for the Oppo meet there in a few weeks, so Gran Turismo 2 in a Mazda Demio it is.

I run RISC OS on my Pi B Rev 1 (mine was so early that it was in the first production batch - the one that had to have the ethernet jacks re-soldered), but that’s about it.

Also, that image is out of date - the Compute Module 3 and the 0W have released since then.

Pi 2B running OSMC, it works great.

I have a 3, but don’t know what I’m going to do with it yet. I was toying with making my own touchscreen infotainment system in my truck, but SiriusXM is a stumbling block.

I have one. We messed around with it a bit, then turned it into a print server with CUPS. We had a power outage a few weeks ago and the print server quit working. I haven’t had a chance to check on it to see what’s going on.

Oh hell yeah. I have a PI3 and a Pi Zero. They are great for both retro gaming and media centers. If you get one use a program called PINN, I found it when I was using a PI Zero and it works great for all devices. My biggest problem with the PI is it’s lack of android support. I’m looking at other single board computers that have android distros, but a PI3 with retropie can run everything just fine up to N64 with no issue, some N64 games bog like hell though. Also make sure you get a good UHS-3 SD card

The Compute Module 3s are very useful. I have a couple of embedded projects going based around them.

One of my brothers has been running around with one powered off (basically) a tablet power source with a tiny screen and running Windows 3.1 on it, among other things. I’ve told him he’s in charge of building one for use in my Ranchero, as I want to use one as a media player/hack of the original radio, and I also need control over a MegaSquirt over RS-232. The radio hack is going to be reusing the volume pot, the balance pot, the off-on switch, and will be using an optical encoder to repurpose the tuner knob. So, that’ll be an ADC shield and other shenanigans added on, I think. I’m going to probably put a screen in the ashtray slide underneath.

Mine ended up in a maniacal robot arm. I helped some college kids with a project, and I forgot to get it back.

Using my 2B as a cheap NAS and a downloading machine. Saw the new Pi Zero W, tempted to get one, but I have no idea what to use it for really.

no pi, but I’m taking advantage of my unemployment by choice to build and Arduino-based CNC machine... I’ve got a ways to go yet on it...

A co-worker of mine made a Raspberry Pi DVR. For that it makes a ton of sense.
