Where the deals at?
I hear that inventory on lots is high, sales are down and deals are up. I’m in the market and kinda set on a type of vehicle, but I am flexible if it meets my needs and is a great deal. Who’s got good deals? What manufactures? what kinds of cars? What are you seeing out there is car deal world?

That’s a very nice not-a-chevy on the lot, but it’s *only* a Sprint convertible, not a Sprint v8 Convertible. It would be a surprise if it *were* a V8 convertible, because they only made like 300 of them for ‘63.

I had an uber ride in a Tucson Limited a couple weeks ago. It was pretty nice, at least from the heated rear seat. The 1.6t is supposed to be torquey and probably helps at your elevation. I dunno, I’m not a huge Hyundai/Kia guy but they seem to have stepped up their game lately.

Coneheads belongs in the top ten. The only movie in which Dan Akroyd makes an arguably good performance.
Also, Moonstruck, in which Nicholas Cage is as terrible as ever, but Cher’s family is brilliant and Cher is, well, Cher.

Gotcha. I love me some XC70. We almost got one when we got a CPO XC70 when we got the Outback but we wanted a 2012 for the revised interior and the prices hadn’t come down quite far enough by mid 2013 to compete with just getting a new OB. What was your main knock against the Outback?

The outback feels like a cheaper, less powerful Toyota highlander, or Honda pilot, only lower and less useful. Its hard to put my finger on it, but the last 2 generations of outback turned off both my wife and I when we got in them.

We checked out a bunch of cars before we bought my wife’s Forester. I just can’t imagine why anyone would buy an outback.

The only reason I can think of is that forester isn’t as wide and doesn’t have as much legroom (length not depth). Other than that...I really don’t get it. I tried to have my wife look at a forester but she flat refused. I think its because we had one (SG) and she didn’t love it.

My wife’s Forester works well for her, but I don’t think I’d ever buy one. Interesting that the outback has more legroom, I figured they would be about the same. I will say its taken pretty much everything a Wisconsin winter can throw at it, and that’s on all season tires. We used to have a pretty steep driveway that would actually require awd if there was snow on the ground, and she never had an issue even after heavy snowfalls.

Oh Im for them, she is not. The trouble with the FOZ v Outback is that the outback is way longer and wider, so it fits more kids in car seats more easily.

I could see that. I thought the Forester would have more interior room honestly. Its not a concern for us, since we take my 100 anytime we have a trip, but I couldn’t sit in the front passenger when my daughter’s car seat was rear facing.

I’d agree. Many crossovers are nothing more than slightly lifted wagons with AWD.

well if that were the case I’d be okay, but crossovers trade length for height. height gives real people real room, because a tall seating position is just as good for adults as long and low, but with the benefit of being a physically smaller package, the trouble, as you pointed out, is that car seats require length, since they don’t use the height advantageously, which means a medium sized crossover with a medium engine, and medium price compares to a compact sedan or wagon in terms of length in the middle seat. its frustrating. Which is why people with 2 kids get huge crossovers and SUV’s.

I own both - 13 Outback and 14 Forester. The Outback is a much bigger vehicle in all ways except for headroom. In most cases, I can fit more stuff behind the rear seats, because the cargo area is longer and wider though a little shorter. Child seats fit way better in the back with the extra length. You can actually sit three across the rear for more than 10 minutes which is about all 3 passengers across the back of the Forester can tolerate. Of course I like the Forester because it has the same motor but weighs a lot less, so it is quicker.
