Dark blue, STI so it still has the boxer rumble, and no silly wing. These are on my list of things to test drive but I doubt I’ll be able to see past the interior.

I wish the newest gen STI was a little less subdued though. I think the previous gen with the giant wing was too obnoxious but now they have gone the other way and made it boring. Plus the engine needs an update!

The engine does need an update! I can’t believe they’ve left it at 300 horsepower for over a decade. But I’m afraid that it’ll loose the asymmetrical headers when the update comes.

The interior isn’t terrible . My wife has an Impreza Limited hatch and while there are some cheap bits, overall it’s a fine enough place to be. Great road trip car. STI Limited has leather etc to make things a bit nicer, if you care about such things.

Yes it could always be worse! Admittedly, I’m very picky about interiors. The design and the materials have to be spot on if I’m going to spend years in there. My ideal interior has warm colored leather, aluminum or wood trim, and an aesthetically pleasing design. The STI provides none of those things :( and it’s up against the S5 and E9X M3 on my shopping list

The WRX did, but not the STI. Check out a youtube vid, the STIs still have the rumble whereas the WRX does not due to the more modern turbo setup.

Point of reference: I drive an E92 335xi with aluminum trim and oyster dakota leather, and I don’t mind the Impreza. But I’m not super picky about interiors.

dont
slide around like leather. Really the

isn’t a car for you,
it’s to
rough and raw. The new STi’s are too refined for me they are like the lux cars you like which

can’t stand. The
STi
should never have leather or heated seats, sound dampening is for other cars too.

Yep I love luxury cars, can’t help it. I’m dying to buy a light drivers car at some point, but I can always name a fast boat I’d rather have for the price. And yeah, I think you’re right about the sterilization of the STI. With this most recent iteration, it seems like Subaru are trying to go upmarket for that CLA45/S3 buyer money.
