How do you like the side opening door?

It makes me less sad about not having back glass that rolls down into a proper tailgate.

I love your car, too. In my area, I’ve noticed it slowly going from the standard-issue “Upper Middle Class Woman’s Car” to “Dude-mobile” as they get older. It’s like the Miata of SUVs.

Thanks! It’s still very much an upper middle class mom car where I’m at, but most have moved on to newer models. Hopefully it won’t stay stock for long though. Expect a mods list post soon.

Well, I drove from Memphis to Nashville (~200 miles) and back (with a college tour in between drives) in one day and was super comfortable the entire time. The seats are incredible because they’re so comfortable but still somewhat firm. Also an very capable highway cruiser; averaged 19 mpg!

I can count on one finger how many I’ve seen modded. We need Lexus to catch up to Land Rover in the luxury offroad aftermarket category. My friend who is a missionary in Uganda had his to-do list when he and the family moved over there. Item #1: Acquire Prado. (he drives a 4th gen 4Runner at home)

That’s super awesome; our church sponsors some missionaries in Mozambique, and from what I’ve seen I think they have an Isuzu D-Max; see pictures for my inspiration:

19 really isn’t so bad! I get low twenties on the highway if I take it easy. BTW I have always wanted to make a sticker based on your username. Hope you wouldn’t take offense lol - it’d be like a “prius repellent” sticker but amusing instead of tacky IMO

For sure! 19 @ around 75 most of the time is great considering it’s EPA rated for 17! And I can whip up something for you with that sticker if you’d like.

Thanks!! I’m actually an artsy type myself though so I’d want to design and print it, that’s always part of the fun! But if you want to take a shot at it I’d totally buy one if it was dope.

19 is much better than my old WK Grand Cherokee Hemi with General Grabber AT2s that weighed like 45 lbs each. Best I ever did on the highway was 15.8 mpg on the trip computer. I think I once saw it hit 16.1 mpg. Around town it was more like 11. Thanks, stupid 5-speed auto with a not-tall-enough 5th gear.

Plans include stock-size BFG KO2s, so we’ll see how that affects MPGs when the Michelin LTXs that are on it right now wear out.

I’ll defer to you on this one since I’m in the middle of a lot of stuff right now. I’m sure it will turn out great!

I replaced stock 245/65-17 Goodyear Fortera HL (worthless tire that is OE on too many SUVs and crossovers) with 245/70-17 Grabber AT2, mostly because they were by far the cheapest A/T tire with severe snow duty rating and didn’t come in the stock size. The extra weight and height knocked off about 1 mpg on average.

Thankfully the KO2s come in the stock size for me (265/65R17), but the tread is a good bit more aggressive than your average SUV tire, and they weigh 12 lbs. more than LTXs.
