Yep. This is one of the reasons the steering column in my ‘59 Lincoln is teh hueg - it’s largely common parts with this setup despite being a normal column shift.

Is that in the center of the steering wheel? Wonderful. I always wanted to end up in reverse whenever some asshole cut me off.
Smacking the center of the wheel to honk the horn becomes so ingrained that I still haven’t gotten used to the fact my car has little buttons by your thumbs instead.
