CP No V8

I’ll say I paid just a wee bit more for my Gran Torino

Oof! $6000? It’s teetering on the NP/CP border.

If it was a 68-72 or a small block car? I’d go NP for sure. The refresh for 1973 and 74 kinda hurt the looks of these a bit.

one of my real good friends was always drooling over the car, and i would tell him the exact same thing. “but its a 3 speed, and a 6” he kept pointing at my loud truck.......

the body IS real straight, and the paint is SOLID. the front fenders have those sheetmetal insterts, that you can take out to put in the older “right year” look headlight bezels and grille . and the interior is some kind of nice leather. but at $6k starting i wouldnt want to NEED to muss with it.

It’s awesome in the sheet metal and interior department. I love the color too.

Things go south under the hood though. Missing heater hoses, a weird opening below the heater box, filthy compared to the rest of the car.. I might be getting picky but these are things I know a typical CLer will be nitpicking too at any number over $3000.

Though, I am often wrong. My word is not to be taken as gospel.

I was with you, until I saw it was a stick.

I saw that too. It just made me wonder if it was originally a “3 on the tree” car.

“3-speed manual transmission moved from column to floor.”

Indeed it was. I still say nice price. I got $6500 for my ‘74 Apollo.

I need to work on reading those ads better. Now we’re dealing with a hole in the floor?

The Apollo? Really? That was a nice machine too. Maybe this really is a NP. The BOP X bodies do seem to get less money than their Bow Tied platform mates for some reason.

Well heck. I don’t know what to think now.

Yep, $6500 for a pretty nice ‘74 BOP X-body. I’m sure if mine had been a Nova, despite the Nova being uglier, I could’ve gotten $9-10k for it.
