I guess? Seems like not that unusual to have rain and lightening at the same time, it’s just a bit colder. All I know is all we got by my house is a light dusting of white stuff. Maybe it just hasn’t made it this far south yet

Thundersnow is actually very rare, and even more so for that area of the country. Essentially a thunderstorm with snow as the primary precipitation, thundersnow is usually seen around the Great Lakes region of the US and in the Midwest and can also be accompanied with hail. Few people will ever witness it if they are not from those areas. March is usually the peak month, but even puring peak times it is seen less than 10 times a year across the continental US.
