A few days ago, a 1960 Corvette was stolen from a hotel parking lot. It was in the area for the Autorama.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Here’s what it looked like. The build isn’t my style, but it was clearly very nice and meant a lot to the owner.
The car was found, but not safe nor sound.
Warning: These are painful to see.
I despise thieves with all of my soul. I feel so bad for the guy. They found his Jeep and tow rig, but the Corvette was gone. The drive train and wheels are also missing.
Detroit will never make a comeback with shit like this happening every year. Was it last year or two years ago that 3 cars were swiped from the Dream cruise, one of them being Papa John’s Camaro.
It’s just depressing. To the owner of the car, if you read this, I am so, so sorry for you.

Downtown really is making a comeback from what I hear. The rest of the city is still a shit hole that more or less needs to restart from scratch.

I don’t really see any part of that being worth living in Detroit. I can speed in SC, I can find places to jump and drift, and I can sleep at night, cars unlocked sitting in the driveway without worry.

Every time I see these stories I cringe, I have possibly the easiest car to steal ever. I’m hoping it’s shitty condition will dissuade people.
