Kinja'd!!!

...so the Huawei watch 2 is expected to drop tomorrow...

I currently have the OG Huawei watch, and really enjoy its looks due to its elegance and formalness, and by the looks of the leaks so far it looks as if Huawei has focused more on being sporty for the watch 2. personally, i’d much rather prefer the more formal and elegant look. what are oppo’s thoughts?

Also have the original Huawei watch, and also am not impressed by that, if it’s the next gen and the only one. I’ve gotten more inquiries and compliments on the Huawei watch than I ever expected (or wanted, for that matter, I just thought it was a nice looking watch and has some nice features). But, to someone else, they might be just what they’re looking for.

I’d DD that all black version of the watch 2. I’m not too into smart watches but I do like my Huawei Honor 5X, if this isn’t terribly expensive I might have to try it out.

i think the black version of the OG looks amazing, especially with the deep black OLED panel, which is quite stunning in person. i think I’ve realized one of the main reasons that i prefer the OG is because of the smaller bezels

Definitely like the OG better. I’m not a sporty watch guy. My biggest reason why I haven’t jumped on the smart watch wagon, though, is that I have a bit of a collection (18) watches and it would be hard for me to justify buying one since it is intended to be worn fairly often.

i will say that the Huawei watch looks fancy, but functionality of it (and pretty much all smart watches) is not really its strong suit.

Yeah the OG looks way better. And there’s got to be enough people wanting to buy a “normal” looking version. Should’ve called this the Sport, not the 2.

I like my Apple Watch, thank you very much. I’m not a fan of the Huawei’s design, nor do I like its large size. But we’ll see what they have in store for us tomorrow.

i prefer the looks of the Huawei watch over the Apple watch. the apple watch just doesn’t look like a legitimate watch, as compared to the Huawei watch

These are neat, but I have a tough time justifying new tech.

Tools or car parts..

I’m not a watch person at all, but the reviews of the new one seem not promising: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/02/huawei-watch-2-hands-on-this-feels-like-a-last-gen-smartwatch/

Ars is an excellent site, and matches pretty closely with my interests. I’ve been a reader going back to 1999, which is a distressingly long time ago these days...

ever since the hulk hogan thing with gawker, i’ve been looking for a new site similar to gizmodo and jalopnik, and I’m pretty confident i’ve found it in Ars

Somewhat interesting of course as Ars is owned by Conde Nast, which was (tangentally) the target of Gawker’s worst story: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gawker-conde-nast-david-geithner_us_55a90c56e4b0c5f0322d0b2c
