So I am a bit bit of a cheese snob, among other things. Picked this Bella Vitano up at the local Corner Market (literally it is called Corner Market) while out to get a couple things. Honestly some of the best cheese I have ever tasted in my life.

Kinja'd!!!

They had some samples of the Bella Vitano Merlot and it was delicious. That one had Merlot soaked into it and crusted on the bottom. I almost went with that before finding this.

This one has crushed espresso beans crusting the bottom and lightly mixed into it. The cheese itself gives of a very robust flavor with a hit of sweetness. Add that with the espresso and it is just wonderful. It is a medium cheese, so don’t expect this to be spreadable on anything. It’s meant more to be eaten in crumbles because hell yeah I can pretend I am rich and eat it with a toothpick right?

I highly recommend trying this if it’s available in your area. The price is a bit steep (this little slice was $5.10) but it well worth it if you are into trying something different.

Kinja'd!!!

See? It even says it is the best cheese!

You should try the smoked cheddar we get at work. We go through about 25lbs of it per week, each 5lb block costs $115. It’s not a strong smoke flavor, but it’s pronounced.

Damn that’s expensive. Do you remember what brand it is?

I don’t recall the brand, but I think only you can buy it in 5lb blocks. That $115 is wholesale though GFS, so it cost more for you. It’s also hard to find outside of restaurants.

Ah ok, that makes more sense. Still though, I do like a good smoked cheese every now and then.

Sartori is generally pretty good. My wife likes the merlot version you mentioned.

I’m in Wisconsin and all the stereotypes about cheese are true.

My favorite regardless of genre is Carr Valley fontina . Damn that stuff is good.

I had never had anything from them until I tried this. I must say, I am impressed. I think I will get the Merlot next time. They do a chai one that sounds good as well.

Fontina is good stuff. I’ll have to see if I can find that one around here.
