Oppo. Anyone here use their pressure washer for their car? My parents have a nice one and it has a special foam nozzle and a way to suck wash solution through it. Thats how the coin wash places do it i assume. Any suggestions on what wash solution to buy?I figure once it starts to warm up and i get the summer car out its an easy way to wash it

You want a foam cannon

it has that built into the pressure washer already. If that makes any sense

It has a soap dispenser that will add soap to the water stream. This unit will also inject air. That is how you get the fluffy foam. Trust me, it’s worth every penny.

I’ve used cheap dish washing soap from a Dollar store. It takes the dirt and wax off so you need to wax afterwards. My small pressure washer is 1100-1600 psi and does well cleaning the car.

As DanZman has said. You want a dedicated snow foam lance/foam canon. The ones include with the pressure washer don’t create a thick enough foam and tend to be watery. The thicker foam will let the cleaning foam cling to the car longer and so work more.

This is two minutes after the snow foam has been applied.

For me I’ve a compact Karcher K2 pressure washer.

The bottles from right to left are:-

Gtechniq W4 Citrus Foam = The citrus element provides a deep cleaning action and foams very well.

Gtechniq Gwash = is a non gloss enhancing shampoo (can also be used as a snow foam, I snow foam, rinse then snow foam and then two bucket wash and then rinse) and won’t leave anything that will prevent the wax or sealant from working yet also won’t remove the wax or sealant.

Gtechniq UV Wash = primarily used for boats but also great for cars in the summer where beading and sheeting water from the body aren’t a priority.

It has a UV coating reducing the damage the sun will inflict of the car’s paint. It also coats in anti static which reduces the amount of dust build up and cling, seriously it does work.

Ideally you want a shampoo that cleans but leaves nothing behind, so you can wax onto it rather than wax onto the coating left by the shampoo which will speed up the degradation of the wax.

thats a little overboard for me haha. do they have an all in one wash? I tend to drive more and wash a little. and paint quality isnt really a huge deal to me.

also ill look into the foam cannon thing. do you use a mit or anything after it foams or just spray it on then rinse it?

I use a microfibre noodle wash mitt and two buckets.

But I always start by cleaning the wheels first.

Wheel cleaning kit.

You’ll also want a lot of these.

If you like wash’n’wax, try Gyeon Bathe+, it’s a shampoo with a built in Si02 (silica based) sealant built in. It leaves wax’n’wax back in the dark ages.

It can be applied via wash mitt, two bucket wash (as a maintenance wash) or via a snow foam lance.

The first via is first application via a wash and then wiping in some neat shampoo and then rinsing.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Initial application via a heavy 40ml to 10litres of water and then rinse.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

You also use Gyeon Q2M Foam either for initial cleans or maintenance cleans.

Mine is rather weak, but seems to work well with plain water.

I’ve been doing it for years to relax. Lol.

To be honest all you need if you just want to keep a car clean is an all purpose cleaner, wheel cleaner, shampoo, glass cleaner, wash mitt, two buckets and some microfibre cloths.

After that you can work from there.

The snow foam lance/foam canon can be found cheaply enough, it just depends on the pressure washer and it’s fitment.

I’m off to get some work done.

If you need anything, give me a shout.

There are products out there now that could have all that truck squared away in three hours for the first clean and an hour or so once a month after that.

If you need any advice on products let me know and I’l try and steer you in the right direction.
