Kinja'd!!!

Fun? Unfortunate? I have a new speedometer cable, ball joints and bushings on the way.

I have to admit, after pulling the engine to replace the crank seal, I was pretty much “old-car’d-out” for a couple months. I didn’t want to turn a single nut or touch anything made of old car (except the steering wheel, seat, and pedals) again.

Now I’m getting back to working on things and kind of enjoying it again.

I already did the passenger side bushings, now I’m going to do the driver side bushings and the lower ball joints on both sides in preparation for an alignment and new tires.

parts is always great when they show up. not so great when the money gets sucked out of your account.

Yeah... thankfully most of these parts are really cheap. The one thing I’m not happy about is that a repro heater valve/thermostat is $145. But for some reason the Volvo version is $135, and the only difference is the location of the inlet/outlet pipes. Haven’t ordered it yet (my old one never shuts completely off, which is bad in Texas).

Fun! Always fun!

When the “guy” shows up I (almost) act as giddy as my Dog does when I come home from... Pretty much anywhere I don’t take him.

I’m ok buying parts. It’s the install that I’ll postpone and dread.

Depends on what it is... if it’s something that removal makes the car undriveable then that is always something to dread.
