Kinja'd!!!

The Nostalgia Retro Series 3-in-1 Family Size Breakfast Station : for when you absolutely must have a combination toaster oven, griddle, and coffee maker. I’m sure it’s great at accomplishing all of those functions.

I suppose it might be appealing for folks places where you don’t have a kitchen, like say an RV or dorm room. But I live in a ~1100 sq ft townhouse with a small kitchen and this wouldn’t work for me. Our coffee maker lives on a counter next to the fridge, the toaster oven is on a baker’s rack in the dining room (which is right next to the kitchen), and the griddle stays in a closet except when I’m using it to make things like mass quantities of salmon .

Kinja'd!!!

The griddle on the Nostalgia Retro Series 3-in-1 Family Size Breakfast Station, on the other hand, apparently is insufficient for containing scrambled eggs.

Kinja'd!!!

Delicious.

If you could set a timer and have all that shit ready at once every morning, this would be hard to beat. Wake up, shower, then slap a sandwich together and run out the door with your coffee.

Unfortunately, that’s not how food works outside of infomercials.

You’re supposed to know to not cook scrambled eggs on a griddle. :p

Seriously though, can you imagine people trying to get their coffee while someone is cooking? Having everyone in the kitchen hovering around the same piece of equipment would drive me crazy.

I can see the use of a rice cooker if you’re cooking mass quantities of rice all the time. I eat a good amount of rice and beans in my house but I make a couple cups at a time in a pot and stick the leftovers in the fridge.

While on cross country flights I like to peruse the Skymall catalog to see if I can find the single most obnoxiously overpriced and complicated solution to an otherwise simple problem. It’s actually a bit of a challenge.

One of my favorites was a tire pressure gauge:

It was digital. It had a LCD screen where you could read the number. It also talked, so it would read the number aloud to you. This, I’d imagine, would be a big help if you’re blind and want to make sure you’ve got good tire pressure.

However, what if you’re blind and you don’t speak English? You’re still in luck. It also speaks Spanish.

I think it was $70.

I think the same thing about the wifi, iKettle.

The other thing other than why it even exists is why there is only four temperature settings.

It’s connected to the wifi and can be operated via a mobile phone app so has plenty of technology in it, yet has no digital display to set your preferred temperature.
