First one I have seen. I like it, the mild lift and slightly wider stance looks really good. I even liked the little spoiler. If this was AWD and maybe had some more go power it would be even better, I’D even consider one maybe! Why did VW have to go 60% on these? It’s not like adding more go and AWD would have been hard.

I like that too, but I love lifts more than drops. I’m weird. Haha id like to see the Dune with maybe another inch or two on top of what it already has. And some small sweet A/T’s under it.

Them taking a Golf R, stuffing the standard 2.0T from the GTi in it, and adding the Dune body would have yielded a much more desirable car.

forgive me I’m not much of a VW guy so I know very little. But I was under the assumption this thing was just a re-bodied golf. what’s different from this and a golf and then whats different from a golf to a golf R minus the running gear?
couldn’t they have taken the AWD system from the golf R and the engine from the GTI and applied to the beetle more or less as is?

It is a rebodied Golf, lol. Your question at the end there is exactly the same one I have. They could have and should have re-bodied, re-engined, and lifted the Golf R.

but those are the fun kind of 2wd. granted FWD probably yields better results than RWD honestly as they can pull them selves through the shit vs trying to shove their way through the shit.

Well, the Golf R is $40K all by itself, so hell with it! They should’ve just thrown the raised Beetle body onto the Golf R and called it a day!

Yeah, it really should at least be AWD, it’s like they wanted to gun for Crosstrek buyers, but not really.
