I bought a set of rims at the swap meet for $75 and some used tires for $20 apiece (205/70/15). I got them mounted at the local vocational high school for $15. Of course, the lug nuts I bought are 1/2-20 and Rusty’s studs are 7/16-20. I also had to take the half-round file and give the rims a haircut around the inside so they’d go on.
I don’t like the look of these, even though I
did
like the price, and it’s a huge improvement over the rusty old 14-inch rims that came stock. What I’m after is a 15x6.5-inch stylized steel rim from an S-10 or a Jimmy, similar to what I’m posting at the bottom. If the tires hold air, I can get $150 for the set in about two shakes.
Rusty is meant to be
utile
.

I’ve always liked those wheels you bought, they were stock on my old ‘98 S-10, but you’re right that they don’t look right on Rusty.

Hey, those look familiar.
My S10 actually had the steelies you want many moons ago but a previous owner swapped them out.
I bet you could find a kid with a W/T S10 that would trade you the steelies for those twisty wheel in a heartbeat.

I’d restore the wheels and put stock hubcaps on them, or maybe a period correct set of rally wheels.

The wheels look small.

How much does a set of Ansen slot mags go for in your area?

Something utile and not flashy.
