A friend of mine happens to be the West Virginia official state photog

He captured this shot of Saira Blair, 20, notable as the youngest person elected to state or federal office in the United States in 2014 at 18 and the youngest to hold such office in 2015

Others will be joining her ranks soon. The current administration has spurred a wave of young people to begin seeking public office. It’s pretty fucking cool, if you ask me. :)

Blair describes herself as “very conservative” and identifies as fiscally conservative, “pro-marriage” and “pro-family.” She opposes the morning-after pill and opposes abortion under any circumstances, even in the cases of rape and incest. She supports voter ID laws, requiring welfare recipients to be drug tested, term limits and making West Virginia a “right to work” state.

I don’t agree with her politics. I just thought this shot was amazing, as well as her record achievement.

Oh, I didn’t look up what her politics are but I still think it’s cool that she ran and won. She’s doing what we try to tell young voting-eligible people all the time: getting involved. We need more of the younger generation like her to do precisely that. Even for those young candidates I don’t agree with, I applaud them for taking up that mantle.

No problem! I figure someone like you would appreciate the photography he’s done.

He keeps posting all these badass shots of the WV State Capitol at Sunrise and Sunset. It’s bad enough that WV has one of the most beautiful State Capitols but when you see his work, it really really shines.

Those are pretty gorgeous! I’m a sucker for pretty sunsets/sunrises, too.
