The 500 only applies to the 2006 Spec Bs. I think like 5000 2007 Spec Bs were made, along with quite a few 08s and 09s. Also, besides the rarity, the 2006 is probably the least desirable one because it still has the WRX 5-speed whereas the 07-09 got a slightly different version of the much much stronger STi 6-speed.

I’m actually more partial to the pre-facelift. I’m especially not fond of the reflectors in the rear bumper of the facelifted ones.
