Hondabro got cut off in traffic by a guy in a Dodge 2500 pickup truck. His rage of smashing his accord’s brakes made him go into a frenzy. The truck and driver were never found again. The truck owner’s family was recently located in a mental institution. The only words the family muttered was “spicy eggplant kills” repeatedly. Netflix has shown an interest in a series called “Making of a Hondabro”.

Key word: “revenge”. It’s hard to enact revenge upon someone else unless you’re willing to stoop to their level. With that in mind, I’m not so sure that this topic was an appropriate one to bring up for Countersteer.
I do enjoy the some of the more passive-aggressive stories, though (the more passive, the better). But I don’t know if they really count as “revenge”.

As someone who was kind of an outcast back in middle school, I don’t think OP was a terrible person for not wanting to be friends with moped kid, who he said in a later comment was kind of a suspicious person. The reason this stuck out is because he got NO stars for his original story, but the person calling it out for bullying got like 200 stars. I don’t think I’ve seen a ratio quite that large.

I’m totally fine with road rage as a topic for discussion. I find no shame in a car blog using that for clicks. We’ve all been there to some extent, and hopefully have tried to maintain a moral high ground in those encounters.
But revenge ... “Revenge” was probably just a poor choice of word for Kristen to use. Even her own example implies that she’s looking for stories that don’t necessarily involve retaliation. But it’s sad to see fellow commenters willing to brag about the satisfaction of being just as bad as the person they’re lashing out against. I thought we were better than this. There’s plenty of satisfaction to be had from simply witnessing awful drivers getting pulled over.

This is why I’m nice to everyone I meet. There’s some crazies you don’t want to piss of in any way.
My only story of automotive revenge back fired almost horribly. A guy cut me off crazy close so I flipped him the bird. With him still being right in front of me, he slammed on his brakes and came to a complete stop on the interstate so he could return the favor.
After that I don’t honk my horn or flip anyone off.

After some more thought, I don’t think I worded that quite the way I wanted to (especially the “I thought we were better than this”. That’s too naive.) SOME of those stories are indeed satisfyingly vengeful, and give an example of what fair justice would look like if we didn’t have to depend on cops to babysit everything.
The stories that really bother me are the ones that go too far. The ones that escalate the situation by becoming arguably worse than the instigator.
