Not bad. W201 might be a train wreck, but for 1500 USD, maybe worth a gamble. Valiant also looks pretty decent (edit, it might not run, and I see rust, but interior is very clean). A lot of it seems cheap - Charger, Aries, Buick - if as good as described. Seems cars are cheaper north of 49, especially with the exchange rate.

Most of these would be asking more a year or two ago, but everything seems to be getting cheaper, or just not selling. Lots of stuff hanging out on craigslist for months, even at fairly low prices. The local economy is terrible for regular people, and only getting worse expect for some specific industries. I think that’s part of it. Not a good time to try flipping cars, that’s for sure.

I guess it’s a good market to find a cheap and cheerful beater anyway.

Yeah, Van metro area proper now more than ever is a playground for residency purchasers laundering questionably acquired money in real estate. And those in on the scam think a 15% tax will change anything. But if you say that, you’re some kind of racy xenophobe. There’s no legitimate connection between housing prices and the job market/economy there. It’s horribly expensive in Seattle too (with huge foreign influence as well, ask no questions), but with a healthier economy to at least offset things a little.
