Kinja'd!!!

I finally wrestled the rear end in place. The tubular upper control arms I had just wouldn’t fit, so I ordered some stock style replacements (which are more $$ than the tube ones) and it plopped right in. This is at ride height, with jack stands under the axles. I’m getting my lift from the Maximum Motorsports adjustable lower control arms. I will be raising the lower shock mounting brackets to compensate. As you can see, some fender trimming is needed. No problemo. :)

Mustangs are gay as hell.

Not that I’m jealous of your budget or anything.

What rear end did you go with? 8.8 from an explorer?

Just an 8.8 from a 2001 Gt. But it has 3.73 gears in it. I also grabbed the front spindles and brakes from the same car.

My budget, ha. This thing is such a waste of money, if I could sell all the crap and the car for what I paid for it I would in a heartbeat. I make poor car decisions.

I’m thinking my 3.8 V6 fox would be a lot of fun with shorter rear gears and a manual trans. Currently has what I believe is a C3 with some hideously high-geared rear end with drum brakes. On the plus side, it does good burnouts.

Front spindles and brakes from an SN95 will fit a fox? I’m assuming they’re bigger?

I recently found out the rear in my truck is a Ford 9 inch as they all should be. Unfortunately it has 2.75 gear ratio. I’m assuming that’s for better mpg but that’s laughable.

Yup they fit but you have to run the SN95 ball joints too. Yes they are bigger and let me go 5 lug. I’m running SN95 arms and struts too. Maximum Motorsports has good writeups of all the options on their site.

I’d love to go 5 lug, but i utterly love these 4 lug wheels. Bummer.

Does a 2001 rear end bolt in? Or was that more madness modifications?

I thought we had a cut off at 98 for fox bodies?

Those maximum motorsports rear control arms look badass but god damn the budget implications...
