I should expand on that: Have your (now ex) girlfriend goat you in buying a car that you can’t afford, get locked into endless payments, drive buzzed and high, get into several minor accidents with no money to fix it, keep driving it to/from work (when you actually work), and choose to eat out/smoke/make interest only payments instead of fixing the car.

I don’t get it. The endlessly rotating assortment of next door neighbors often have crappy cars like this Accord. I have a feeling it’s people buying more car than they can afford and neglecting even the most basic maintenance until it dies, probably from a Buy Here Pay Here lot. There was one guy with a silver E60 5-series with some really ugly wheels. A few weeks later he was driving a white E60 with the same crappy wheels. If it’s like what I’ve seen at the junkyards, people drive these things until they die and replace them with another of the same, never really factoring in that they wouldn’t have to go through the hassle if they just did basic maintenance and repair. This is, of course, forgetting the fact that they really can’t afford to be driving such an expensive and labor-intensive vehicle, and should probably be in a Fit instead of an E60, regardless of how unsexy that is. But we’re dealing with kids in their 20s, and it’s more about flash than reality.

It’s 10 years old. It’s rare for a Honda to look like that, but I see similarly aged Altimas, Fusions, and Camrys that look like that pretty regularly.
