I am letting an old Land Cruiser LJ70 rot in my backyard, and I feel bad about it.

The body is rusty all around. And most body panels have are dented.

The engine needs a head gasket (best case scenario)

The interior smells terrible as it was a hunters car. The dash is cracked, and the seats torn.

It’s been sitting for 2-3 years now. The previous owner can’t drive anymore, but for a long time he didn’t want to let go, thinking he will drive it again one day (he won’t). He finally signed the paperwork a few months ago.

If I didn’t have too many projects, I would restore it. It’s a lot of work, but it has a good frame. But I couldn’t justify keeping it when I have the Pajero. It will probably be sold as project/parts car in the next months.

If it is too far gone, I wonder how much it would be to ship it all in a container as parts to the US, and use the good bits for nicer ones coming in from Japan or elsewhere. Someone might want a replacement frame, or the dashboard and firewall to convert their RHD JDM 70 to LHD...

Two Pajeros actually, you can see a green and a gray one on the last picture. Both parts cars for mine. The property isn’t mine though, it’s my parents

I think it’s a good base, my pajero wasn’t much better when I started work on it. Some parts were worse actually
