You think they pipe the noise in through the speakers?

Also, how much do you think this will depreciate in a year or two? :D Because I sure as fuck can’t pay $90-$110k + taxes + insurance when its new.

UPDATE: Do the rear windows retract to make this a pillarless Coupe? If so, the want has become stronger!!!

It’s an interesting time for sure if Lexus is making the most desirable GT car if an Aston is just out of your price range.

But a V8 Vantage S is just 30 grand more and $105,000 would get you a CPO DB9 that’s just 3 years old with 10,000 miles and a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty. I know what I’d have.

That does sound incredible.

Shame the hybrid has more “video game”-like steering - wonder why that is. It’ll have less weight on the front axle, more on the rear axle, wonder if that weight distribution change would affect it?

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed how pretty a usually unnoticed component were.

Lexus had one of these at the Philadelphia Auto Show. Would pick over the 6 series and S class coup.

“just 30 grand more”

“just”

“30 grand”

“more”

If you can’t afford a 130 grand car you probably shouldn’t be dropping 100 grand on a luxury coupe, not that I could come close to either.

$30k is $30k, it doesn’t matter how much you have, that’s a shitload of money.

True, but 100 grand is a shitload for what amounts to a discretionary purchase.

To put it in perspective, it’s the same ratio as comparing a $20k and $26k car. Yeah, it’s a decent jump but certainly within the realm of comparison.

I get your point, I just think it’s worth the comparison. No doubt the Lexus will also have significantly lower running costs and probably hold value better. But at that point if the 30 grand bothered me I should probably be looking at something more practical than a $100,000 GT, or if I must have a big sports coupe they depreciate fast and I should be looking at CPO

Its definately a step above 6 Series. But I wasn’t sure if it was better than the S Class Coupe....

then I peeked over to the interiors and the orgy of different browns lol

Definitely worth it.

I will like it even more if it depreciates faster than the S Class Coupe :D

Yeah I’m not sure why...Maybe they went for a different steering set up for the hybrid, but improved upon it for this model?

Yeah, it looks very alien like and organic with how they curve in and away from the body and door panel :)

Aston is definitely a different kind of car than this is. It has a different appeal and character from an S Class or a 911.

If you do end up getting an Aston, its because you want an Aston. Not necessarily because its better or worse than the LC500, you know? You can just as easily get a CPO 911 Turbo from 3 years ago for $110-130k too...

That’s fair. I just really, really want an Aston, so whenever something starts crawling into the 100k+ range I can’t help but think ‘yes, but Aston..’.

Over a 911 Turbo every day of the week if it was my money haha. They’ve always been my absolute favorite brand so I’m pretty biased.

An Aston Martin was the first car to make a major impression on me. When I was in like first or second grade my family took a road trip down to San Francisco from home in Portland. We were staying in a rather upscale area and within view from our hotel room was an Aston Martin dealership. These cars completely caught the attention of my 7-year-old brain and I continually begged my parents to go in and have a look around. Probably without too much convincing, my dad caved. I think the picture they snagged of a little 7 year old sitting behind the wheel of a Vanquish was the writing on the wall that they had a petrolhead on their hands.

I mean just look at them..

That’s pretty awesome :)

I think Astons are really appealing. The F Type S/R is like that for me. I’m biased and I’ve wanted one for a while

I do like the F-type also. I’m a sucker for British cars.

I mean at least your dream is a bit more realistic, a new F-Type S is what, like 70 or 80 grand? It’s a Jag so that’ll be a hell of a lot cheaper a few years down the line. If I’m ever going to own an Aston with my requirement that it be a stick it’ll probably have to be a V8 Vantage and still probably always out of my realistic price range. Astons with a manual seem to really hold their value and I only see them appreciating now(besides the V8 Vantage) as they offer fewer and fewer models with three pedals.

I’m sure you’ll be able to find a reasonable deal on them :)
