Update 6: FINALLY saw something worth seeing. The first and only cafe racer style bike I’ve ever seen at this rally (I’ve been to it the past few years). A 1986 BMW R65 in grey with red and black striping and red wheels. Dude riding it was super nice, too. We spent about half an hour talking bikes.
And I wouldn’t have seen it at all if I hadn’t needed to come into town to cover another story. I saw the dude ride past while I was on my way somewhere else, so decided to see if I could find him again at the rally venue about an hour later. Turns out he was one of the first bikes I saw in the parking lot.

Update 5: So I stayed for the lira hoop aerial performance teaser. But I won’t be staying for the main show later tonight. Sorry for the photo of a photo, but I was shooting a real camera for work. Context: It was a poorly advertised event & there aren’t many bikers here despite the absolutely PERFECT weather (sunny, low 70s). Most attendees are Harley/cruiser fanboys, so no really interesting bikes. Sooner I’m done here sooner I can go home. Fire away, Oppo!
Bike count so far:
1 Honda Goldwing
1 Victory cruiser of some sort
3 Indian cruisers of some sort (1 is a Scout. The other two are bigger).
1 Suzuki SV
1 Gixxer
Eleventy-billion Harley Davidson cruisers and trikes. Almost all of them in black. Almost all of them stock.

Update 4: should I wait for this to happen? It’s an acrobatic show of some sort. The performers are still setting up.

Sadly, no. Not at all.
There was a guy set up in a booth who was selling and sewing on patches/mending vests and such who had some cool stuff, though. He had a sweet black and grey patch of a calavera (sugar skull), but he wanted $30 for it. I don’t even have a vest, (or a bike), so it was a no-go.

The logistics and planning are actually pretty good. This place hosts several different bike rallies every year, so they’ve got it down pretty good.
Right now I’m partial to Snickers Almond and Peanut M&Ms.

Derp, you’re right. I coworker had one a long time ago, I never learned that much about it, just remembered a valve cover on the side and loved the way it looked and felt. Assumed it was a boxer twin like the older ones.

I’m asking how you make refried beans again. You told me once and I saved it in a text doc somewhere that I’ve referenced every so often but hadn’t followed to a T yet, and was going to attempt this week, but now I can’t find it. :(
Also what sorts of things are critical to put on burritos and what is forbidden?
Back on topic. I’m not really a bike guy, but after spending a couple hours down at Barber’s museum, it’s difficult not to be. So much cool stuff there. I really liked the absolutely ancient stuff, as in 1800's stuff, made of wood, with leather belts to transmit the drive. Pretty awesome.
