This was my families first ‘good’ van. Previous to buying it by father would pick up old hunkers that were so rusty you could see the ground through the floor of the van, lol. Granted, he used them for scuba diving and stuff, but he also drove us around in them. Love that old Toyota.

LOVE THESE! We have an 84 Van 5 speed, so it’s a bit of a soft spot for me. A few observations:
1) Too bad US didn’t get any high-roof versions (from factory; I know some were converted).
2) Master Ace or Master Surf are great names. In Germany, it was the “Model F”...hilariously awesome/bad
3) Toyota clearly engineered this to have a door opening on either side. Too bad they didn’t ever make a version with sliding doors on both sides. Could have been way ahead of the curve on that!
