Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. I had a bugeye wagon before so the feels came over me. It’s also completely stock and rust free, so I think its worth the repair. I’ve doon engine r&r a few times on one, so I am pretty confident. It also has a seized turbo and the worst shifter bushings i have ever seen. I had forgotten how bad the seats were.

Sounds like it is worth saving. I just went through this on an STi. Luckily the TD04 is cheap and easy to come by. I think I paid around $1800 shipped for a new loaded shortblock. Ended up being cheaper and easier than rebuilding the original trashed block.
