So instead of low-balling me because of a bullshit “open recall” on the Takata airbag that may never get a replacement on a car they made 2200 of in the US, the dealership is selling my SLS on consignment in the showroom. The consignment fee was a 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus in Suzuka Grey over red interior. I’ve also found out how badly pictures convey how sweet Suzuka Grey is in person. It just looks white in pictures. In reality it’s like a lighter, less flat Nardo Grey.
After narrowly missing a $30k transmission replacement off warranty, I think I’ll stick to new cars for the time being.
Also, with our current political climate, I’m not so sure foreign cars won’t be artificially 20-25% more expensive soon...even before the dollar weakens. Banks are already starting to increase interest rates (notice how fewer companies are offering 0% than they used to?) At least, that’s what I tell myself to make the decision seem smarter...
Pick it up Friday.
I’m excited, I only do something this dumb every 5 years.
I was looking at a Huracan but my wife said the R8 was the more “sensible” (comfortable) version.

My buddy has a fashion grey Boxter. Looks to be similar color to yours. It is lovely and also appears that it would be invisible in the fog.

Suzuka is one of those colors that doesn’t photograph that well but in person it has amazing pop. Congrats!

I know what you mean about interesting greys. I’ve been up close with an S3 with, what I assume is, Nardo Grey and it makes a very “eeh” color stand out as something special!

I have to agree with your (AWESOME!) wife here, R8 is the better choice. Huracan is really a playboy toy and the R8 is sinister in it’s own right.
My wife’s dream garage includes an R8 as a 3rd/4th car - although she also likes the Boxster Spyder in MT. Welcome back, looking forward to more content from you!

Dealers are dealing right now. I got 5% off sticker without even asking when I bought mine and recently they are giving 10% off with little to no haggling from any dealer with more than 1 on the lot.
