What you are seeing here is the only two places where anything “Hyundai” appears on our new Genesis. My dad is having both of those Hyundai badges switched over to the winged “Genesis” logo. Normally I am firmly against rebadging a car, but personally I’m okay with it here because 1. Genesis is now a brand of car, 2. Even some of the later Genesises (Genesii?) that were made under the Hyundai brand had Genesis badges rather than Hyundai ones, and 3. Unlike people who put ///M badges on a 528i, the badges here aren’t lying; this is in fact a Genesis. And of course the reason we are doing this is because “Genesis” looks and sounds much cooler, more premium, and more appropriate to the car than “Hyundai.” The badges were fairly inexpensive, so I’m happy with the change.

I think a bigger question...the person whose job it is to put the badges on the car at the factory....are they considered a Badger?

My grandma had an 09 Genesis with the “wings package” so there weren’t any Hyundai badges on it.

It’s really not bad at all. Its a RWD “luxuy” sedan. Grandma’s was mostly problem free (her biggest issue was a leaking diff which was repaired under the powertrain warranty)
The only real issues I had were the spots Hyundai clearly cut corners. The passenger seat was simple power, you couldn’t adjust much. Cheap plastics. Terrible nav system. Squeaks and rattles.

Even if she didn’t have a warranty, fixing a leaking Diff on a RWD vehicle is stupid easy and cheap. Some RTV, new fluid and maybe a $5-$40 (depending on the car) pinion seal and youre good to go.
