A CRJ700 flying for PSA returned to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport a little after noon today after the plane hit a deer . Local station WSOC has pictures of the plane sitting on the tarmac after the plane was evacuated. None of the passengers or crew were injured, though the plane was leaking fuel and foam was sprayed on the runway as a result.

Dammit I sat through the 30second ad thinking it was a video of the deer getting hit and it was just the plane landing.

7th busiest airport in the world in terms of aircraft movements (but 27th by passengers). Tons of small planes moving around, surrounded mostly by trees. Doesn’t surprise me much at all. Too bad it wasn’t a Dash 8, that thing will actually process the deer right there on the tarmac :D

D’oh!

Deer have to be *the* absolute stupidest mammals in North America

(even with our housecat doing her best to edge them out)

Sounds like they need Deer Crossing signs on the runway....
