These things used to be ubiquitous here in the Northwest. Then everyone switched to Subaru.

There once was a wagon from Sacto, with plenty of room in the back row. Forgotten for years, remembered with tears, nostalgia is strong ex post facto. #stanza

In Europe and Japan, this car was called the Prairie. Not sure why they didn ’ t apply the same name in the US. I ’ m sure nobody would laugh...

In the U.K. these were called the Nissan Prairie. I’d of thought the name Prairie would better suited the U.S.

I have always wanted one of those, but I can just imagine the results of the small overlap front crash test with that missing B pillar...

That is awesome. More people need to lift 4wd wagons. I’m looking at you Civic and SX4 owners.

My grandpa has one of these the same powder blue, except it’s FWD with an auto. I’ve driven it a handful of times. A bit bigger and more buzzy feeling than my old Festiva.

Ah, this brings back memories. One just like that was the very first car I ever worked on as a professional mechanic. the reason I can remember that is because the night before the shop owner took us all out drinking. The next day everyone in the shop is hungover. I get a brake job on this stanza wagon. I hang the parts and road test it and get this scraping noise. I figure the backing plate is bent so i bring it back in and investigate. I don’t see anything out of the ordinary. two other techs come over and look. none of us can figure out what’s wrong. Shop foreman comes and looks, even unbolts the caliper and checks and doesn’t spot the problem. So we’re all staring at this car and suddenly it dawns on me: inboard pad is installed backwards. i flipped it around, noise is gone. And that’s when we decided none of us was in any condition to be working on cars that day.
