I don’t know how it works in the US, but in Canada most of the time the money you get back in a tax return isn’t really a return, but a shelter. I barely get any credits from any tax return ever since I exhausted my tuition allowances years ago. Money coming from there shouldn’t be used as eventually you will need to pay it back, so should only be used for investment purposes.

Arguably worse, if you can imagine that. It’s a handmade English wheel I got from a guy and then retooled to use Harbor Freight bottom dies, which, credit where it’s due, are actually pretty good for the money. I’m working on trying to find a good Tennsmith brake on Craigslist, but the right one has not come up yet. I have a brake, but it’s a handmade one so it’s sketchy as hell, even after I improved it.
