A friend has one, and likes it a lot.
Caveats : He is married w/o kids, he has a house with a garage and charger, and a 2nd vehicle.

Depends on how you intend to use it and if there is charging at your work.

Used, if the battery is in good condition, or if it’s a late 2012 with a battery in poor condition, they can be a good buy.
New, it’s a terrible buy.

My dad bought a used one. I think he regrets it.
I think it’s garbage.

If you live where it gets very cold, you might only have 1/2 - 2/3 of the max. possible range in winter.

The going rate for used ones seems to be $8k or so. Assuming that you can work within a realistic 50 mile battery range, and don’t care about the relatively crappy interior, it might make for a decent commuter car.
New ones are advertised to lease @ $199 for 36 mo w/ $2800 down. So, $276 / mo + tax. That may realistically be a better option.

I almost posted this very question last night. Noticed the used car department of the local Chevy dealer has got a half dozen of these little guys for sale just under 10k. In my part of the country, Nissan Leafs (Nissan Leaves?) are just slightly less common than bigfoot. I think it might make a nice 4th car... just for a grocery getter and parts chaser. Hmmm....
