The Colorado/Canyon isn’t as big as I first thought. A little taller and wider than mine, but not a ton. Length... well it’s a truck. Can’t do much about that.

It feels like the width is the dimension that makes the biggest difference, too. It’s really nicer to drive a midsize truck in a parking lot because of it. You still get the “coulda had a V8" thing, tho...

Is it really 6" wider? Wow, I didn’t know that, and generally don’t feel it... Maybe if I were to drive an older one again (I worked at a Chevy dealer, “drove” a lot of them), I would notice the difference?

Yeah, 6"... but the cab is the same size inside. All it is is a wider track. Better road manners I guess. Which was a sensible change, put my truck in a crosswind and it really does feel tall and narrow.
But to put that in perspective, that’s STILL only 6" wider than the old S10's. My truck is the same width as an S10. So 6" extra width in 24 years isn’t too bad imo.

They replaced it with Inferno Orange. Normally, I like orange a lot. But they didn’t have to delete yellow to add orange.

I did go from yellow to gray. Now I’m in white which isn’t really any better. We had a yellow truck and a purple hatchback and now have a black crossover and a white crossover. It’s like I’ve become everything I hate. Having multiple kids can rearranges priorities though. At least mine still has a manual transmission. 2015 was the only year for the yellow Colorado, right? I see one parked at a nearby CVS all the time. Must be someone who works there. It makes me happy. I also drive by a house with a yellow S-10 ZR-2 pretty often. If that ever has a for sale sign on it the wife and I are going to have a pretty long discussion because I’m not sure I’ll let it slip by without a fight.

I’m a big fan of bright colors. The color makes the car many times. I love my Mazda in its blue but don’t care much for it in any other color. Grayscale just makes me sad.

Cool. I’ve got the 3.42's, but you could get the V8 with 3.73 and 4.10 gears. Those things would properly haul ass. Don’t want to think about the fuel bill though...
Based on that link, it would be closer than you’d think between this. Bear in mind that as far as actual distance goes, there isn’t a lot separating you at ~1-1.5 seconds 0-60. I come in at high 6's, also verified by camera. In what’s roughly an 1/8th mile against an 8-ish second vehicle (Eg Gen2 Escalade. And also a V6 Escape. That was kind of embarrassing) I get far enough ahead to change lanes, but not comfortably if you had to slow down. Inb4 accusations of street racing, these were those people who drag their asses until you get fed up with them and then discover a remarkable turn of speed off the lights.
Yeah, I think you’re right. GM usually neuters its “commercial vehicles” at 98mph. And considering that 0-60 is usually in 2nd, you should hit it in 3rd. I know at full throttle I change up to 3rd at ~140km/h.

Actually I’d like to. Be an interesting result for sure. I’d also like to race a diesel, but with a spacer under the throttle pedal. I’m interested to see how it’s midrange acceleration really stacks up. It felt awesome when I tried one.
