Kinja'd!!!

These have gotten my attention recently, and seem to be pretty great value for money right now, as well as really good fun. I’m just wondering if anyone here knows much about them

If there is any relation to the Punto then avoid like the plague. Also at that price range wouldn’t a Renaultsport Clio be a better bet.

It probably does have something to do with them, so I doubt they’re that incredible. Though my main gripe the Puntos I’ve been around has been horrible cheap interior, that I don’t think are shared. The rest might not be so good, however.

Clio could be a better bet - but I’m in no position to afford either right now haha. The only problem I can think of with a Clio would be running costs (insurance, etc. The panda seems very cheap in that respect)

I know 2 people who have owned Puntos and both suffered the same fate. That fate being stolen without much effort. As for cheap cars to insure, my opinion is pretty much worthless. Heck I’m currently deciding whether or not £900 for a MK3 MR2 or £1050 for a MK1 TT is better. Liking cars in London sucks unless you like running in traffic to take a shaky video of a Veyron is your thing.

Hmm, what a shame. I knew that some had reliability issues, as well as the aforementioned crappy interior, but didn’t know about that.

Those prices don’t sound too bad - I was quoted the best part of £6k to insure a mid 90's 1.5 civic not long ago...

I used to like Pandas, but now every time I think about them, I remember how disastrously unreliable and poorly built mine was.

Oh. That’s kind of a pity. Guess there’s a reason they’re so cheap....

The petrols are more reliable than the shitty diesel I had, but they still suffer from some daft issues. The handling is good but they have a very top heavy feel.

I thought MK2 Pandas were known for their reliability? The gasoline ones that is, I doubt we even got a diesel in my market.

The petrol ones are okay mechanically but have a lot of quality issues. The diesel is a disaster.

Since the 500 Amarth is getting all the attention lately, this should be pretty great value. Like the Uno Turbo but newer.
