Honestly, I don't know how anyone can hate the Juke when it's sold in the same segment at these f-ing abominations.

Kinja'd!!!

They’re f-ing lifted Aveos, they’re everything wrong with everything ever, and they look stupid . Really stupid. Incredibly stupid. Every time I see once of these cars I become overwhelmed with a burning sense of disgust and hatred. Pictures can’t convey how awful and stupid and disgusting these things look. They’re the car equivalent of a unicycle. Jukes are at least weird, and weird is a hell of a lot better the soul-crushingly bland. These are basically lifted versions of the kinds of Korean and Chevy shit boxes that you encounter en masse in every poverty-striken Central Asian SSR, and I have a violent hatred towards them.

I have never see the Chevy (indifferent), and the Juke makes me want to gouge out my eyes. But I see those Buicks everywhere and I like them for the following reasons:

They seem like a really bold marketing exercise — a subcompact “SUV” in a traditional luxobarge brand? And in the US, no less?

Because of the brand, they help keep old people in smaller vehicles that are easier to control and do less damage to others.

Yes, but that leader is the Trax/Encore. The Juke was at least designed by a person with a sense of humor and a vision, no matter how flawed. The Trax was designed by a computer that concatenated some information about market trends and spit out the results while simultaneously devoting most of its processors to making the world’s nuclear power plants melt down and kicking puppies.

It is possible to hate the whole segment.

Let’s see, what all is in it now, in the US market?

Juke

Trax/Encore (really they’re two different trim levels of the same thing)

CX-3

HR-V

C-HR

Mini Countryman?

BMW X1? (more premium, but similar size)

GLA 250/QX30? (rather low, though, for the class... and I guess I don’t exactly hate these)

Subcompact crossovers are the “in” thing right now. Honestly, I can’t tell which automotive trend is worse, the American landyacht years or this.

Late 80s/early 90s were the best years for general public taste in cars. And I think the best years are certainly behind us.

I know right. Like people want shorter cars because they found out shorter cars are easier to maneuver and better to drive. But then they ruin any weight downsizing by upping the sheet metal and ride height. Not to mention height has a worse effect on MPG, ride, and handling than length. It’s just all bad. If there was ever a crossover that was better than the car it is based on, I will eat my toenail.

Because the Juke is weird looking and these only manage to be bland.

Personally, I don’t like any mini crossover that doesn’t have a back seat that fits normal adult humans. Yes they’re mini but these vehicles are supposed to be practical with room for passengers and cargo.

If I at 5'11" can sit in the back seat of a Honda HR-V with limo-like legroom, I should at least be able to fit in the back of the others in the mini crossover segment. But cars like the CX-3 and Juke are impossible for me to fit in the back.

Toyota’s gotten away with calling almost every refresh of the XV30/XV40/XV50 Camry “all new”. So, that’s model years 2005, 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2015.

OK, there were major updates - between 2010 and 2012, new powertrains were phased in, and the 2014.5 minor facelift strengthened the unibody - but a 2017 Camry is still pretty much the same car as a 2002 Camry.
