This weekend I installed my new air hose & power cord reels in the garage. These were both upgrades from the worn-out cheap junk I’d bought 13 years ago.
The hose reel is 50' of 3/8" rubber, so I’ll get better pressure to the tools, be able to reach the entire driveway, and not have to deal with stiff PVC hose. It’ll get a new 3/8" fee line ot the compressor, and 1/2" hard line come spring(when I’m also plumbing the basement of the house for air).
The power cord is 40' of 12 ga wire with a triple end. I’ll be adding a new 20amp circuit with 12/3 Romex in the spring as well, so I can get proper power to my welder.

That looks awesome, nice work! Switching to a rubber air hose was one of those things I wish I would have done years before I did... SO much better!

Same here. About a month ago It was sub-freezing and I was fighting with a tangled mass of 1/4" PVC air line that was uninterested in going back in the worn-out reel because it was too busy trying to tie the snowblower to the engine hoist.
I looked at the whole mess and wondered “Why am I fighting with this thing every time?” Then I looked at the cheap 16guage power cord reel that doesn’t stop on the ratchet and always tries to pull all the unspooled line in, and wondered the same thing.
The fact that both the reels and another 50' 3/8" air line (half will be the new feed line, half will be spare hose if I need to reach even further) was under $200 really added to the “why didn’t I do this ages ago?”

Want to hear something freaky? I opened this link (and the one for the other reel) just to check them out. A little while later, I got an email from Northern Tool about these two specific reels asking me “Are you still interested?”.
What the hell?!
I don’t even have a Northern Tool account, and I’m at work on Chrome w AdBlock. How in the hell did they get my old Yahoo email address? I’m not logged in to that email account, but I have logged in from this computer/IP before. Shit’s getting too freaky. Time for VPN/Tor?

I looked at stuff from them on my home computer, and the next day my GF got an email at her old Yahoo address from Northern Tool about them. She isn’t logged into that computer, and only browses incognito.

That’s messed up. Yahoo selling IPs/email addresses, sounds like, or IPs were included in one of the massive hacks that Yahoo’s had and Northern Tool is using that data.
