Been meaning to get this for quite a while, only saw it twice at 2 different duty free stores.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s back at LCBO but I’m really not sure... didn’t get a raise this year so I really gotta watch my budget.

PS: I really like the briny taste of Talisker, 10 is my favourite but didn’t like the Dark Storm (added peat overpowered the signature saltiness)... reason why I want to get this. anyone can recommend something else?

Jura has some interesting variants, but i haven’t had a chance to try them.

Currently working my way through a Caol Ila 12. Islay with a bit more iodine-peat balance.

I got the 12 for my best friend when I was on the way to Hong Kong, he’s a Caol Ila fan. I really liked it too when I sampled it at his place.

Have my eyes on the 15 Unpeated Natural Cask Strength, but that’s not available in Ontario, and definitely never seen it at duty free. Liquor Depot in Alberta has it though: http://www.liquordirect.ca/Caol-Ila-Unpeated-Style-Single-Malt-Scotch-Whisky-15-year-old-P10850.aspx

My favorite!

Swapped some 10 and 18 with a friend over the holidays and some days after I thought it a good idea to reacquaint myself with both. Last I saw him I said, “10 has what I like; Strength, brine, salt.” Since, I’ve been steered towards the 18. A subtle salt, old leather, iodine and fish.

Age statements are on the way out. Get ‘em while you can.

Goal to acquire 2 bottles of 18 by the end of the year. Last me ‘til I die

Superstition is the only I’ve tried and wish I’d tried it sooner.

Like Caol Ila for the same reasons I like Talisker (but with more iodine and weight).

That’s what I heard last year about replacing them with NAS Skye, but it never seemed to have happened. I still see 10 around, although I haven’t seen 18, but then it’s likely LCBO never carried it in the first place. They really scaled back on the mid-level stuff the past few years, only to relaunch some after they went online.

There are terrible rumors of Port Ruighe replacing the 10 in the future.

Grab the 10 or the 18!

Have another theory though, it could just be games Diageo is playing. Just like Green Label, it was immensely popular, so let’s discontinue it, and bring it back at a higher price point later with “limited bottlings”.

Interesting theory. Can’t argue Diageo being greasy. May I add that Green came back a little less smokey too.

“Oh look...now I can have that smoke. I just need to buy one more bottle....”

Related to Talisker: Have an unopened bottle of Rock Oyster which I bought because I thought it may capture some of the spirit of Talisker. Will post a review soon.
