Hey Oppo! So I’m working on cranking out the rest of my NAIAS material so I can get back to normal stuff, so this is going to be a bit of a bigger post, and for those of you who read my last post, Acura will be paired with Lexus because I figured they’re both luxury brands, and it might work better. But anyway, let’s get to it!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

First up we have Mazda, and even though the only things I took pictures of on Mazda’s show stand were Miatas, Miatas are MIATAS! You either love them, or you don’t know how to love them yet. I must say, I like the club racer and the regular Miata a lot, but seriously, if they don’t make the RX-whatever, they should make the Miata Speedster Concept! Seriously! That would be amazing! After all, driving matters right Mazda?

Next we have my favorite Japanese brand (sorry Toyota and Zoldberg) Subaru! First thing I saw when I got to their stand was the Subaru Viziv-7 Concept, Subaru’s possible weapon of choice for the large CUV segment. I like it, although it looks a little funky and I hope they change the name, but for a first go at something like this in some time, it’s pretty good all things considered.

Next we have Subaru’s great BRZ. I personally love this car, and even though it’s not powerful at all, it makes it so much more fun to drive at the limit, and that’s one of the great feelings about driving. This BRZ I believe had the new performance package, but I didn’t know about that at the time, so there’s a good chance I’m wrong. Also, I’m sorry for the poor quality picture of the rear of the BRZ, it was the busiest car on Subaru’s stand and that was the clearest shot I got sadly.

Kinja'd!!!

Next we have the new Impreza. Not gonna lie, I’m really excited for this car. Realistically, if I was going out of college and looking at a car, this is the one I’d get. They’re always safe and efficient, and have AWD which is great for me. And hopefully these things keep the tradition of being impossible to kill. Maybe I’ll test drive one of these in the near future...

Now here’s the car that if I had to pick, it would be the one I’d buy. The refreshed Subaru WRX. If this thing wasn’t so darn expensive I’d buy it right now, but I’m also a broke college kid, so that would be a very bad idea... But I love how it’s kind of like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s not super flashy, and it still is a pretty quick car and fun to drive. And it can haul other people, so that’ll be nice.

And with there being a WRX, there’s always going to be an STI near. I really like this STI, but even though the interiors are nicely redone and the bodywork has been revised, everything else is the same. And there are no gold rims. Come on ma, I need those rims. But in general, if I was actually considering this, it’s too flashy for my lifestyle. But still a fantastic car, and would rally 10/10.

Speaking of rally...Subaru was nice enough to bring one of their ARA rally cars to the show! And I must say, I love it. I love it a lot. Take my money Subaru. Please!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

And last but certainly not the least by any means, Subaru’s Isle of Man Time Attack WRX STI! I was stunned to find this car all alone in the far corner of Subaru’s stand, away from everything else. It was probably the most under appreciated car at the entire show. But the good thing was, since there were no people, I got to take some cool angles with my phone. Like them?

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Now if you’ve made it this far there’s a reason why GAC is at the back, and that’s because I really don’t think anyone is going to care or buy their cars. I have no idea what GAC means, I only know they’re from China, they’re cars are supposedly going to start at about $30K, and that’s pretty much it. So if anyone has any info on these guys, feel free to let me know.

So anyway, that’s it for this post. I hope you’ve enjoyed all of these so far! Lexus and Acura are next, and after that we get into Europe and the Big 3, with some customs as well. Thanks Oppo! Cheers!

GAC if they ever get released in the USA won’t do well.
