Is this what I must tolerate for this Italian machine?

Kinja'd!!!

I took off the cheesy chromed grips that looked better on the web, and replaced them with OEM grips that the seller gave me when I bought it. It wasn’t too bad, except that the there are no videos or pictures of how the pieces for the throttle control go together, even in my repair manual. I figured it out, and this isba better look.

BUT.....

First, I managed to break the other mirror. Good thing I bought that extractor. I ordered new chrome mirrors today, and I still have the ugly factory mirrors until they arrive.

More disturbing is that the bike intermittently won’t start. I thought it might be battery related to my headlight upgrade but it did nothing when I tried to jump it. Then it miraculously started suddenly out of nowhere.

I still have a spare starter motor, so it might be time for that.

Those mirrors look like antennae. I love it.

Wipe down the handlebars with rubbing alcohol then spray the inside of the grips with hairspray. This will keep them from coming off. Better yet are clamping grips that you should be able to get at a bike shop.

This thing is going to make a wrencher out of you yet.

I’d replace the starter. Sometimes they develop dead spots.

Just take the mirrors off, it’ll look way better!
