Hey Oppo! Sorry about being away again, the college life never seems to slow down. But anyway, here’s the Detroit set up for Hyundai/Kia and Genesis. I hope you enjoy it!
First up is Hyundai, even though really they didn’t have much I was interested in, but they had these:
The aging yet funky Veloster Turbo. I like these, but I hope (probably in vain) Hyundai brings the i20 and hopefully a hot(ter) hatch of some kind to North America.
Next up is the Ioniq, and the autonomous one at that. I’m hopeful that this car is better than the Prius, and hopefully somewhat fun. I also think it looks pretty good in that shade of blue.
Next up is Kia, and even though they’re...Kia, I’m extremely excited for the Stinger GT. Like, REALLY EXCITED. If it can actually be the Audi and BMW slayer people are saying it is, I’ll literally say SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY. And for those who say Kia has no motorsports experience, they do race in the Pirelli World Challenge-and have won races. And they also probably got some info from Hyundai on performance, so I expect this to be good when I get the chance for a test drive.
Also, I think this Kia Sorento on tracks, even though it’s an old concept, is still awesome and would be amazing for winters pretty much anywhere cold (especially the Northeast right now).
Lastly, we have Genesis. I don’t really know much about them, other then that they’re Hyundai’s new luxury brand. I know their only models right now are the G80 and G90, and honestly I’m still trying to figure out which is which, other then their size differences. I’ll be keeping an eye on Genesis though, I look forward to seeing what they have in the pipeline.
So that’s it for now. Working on my last post of the Asian brands, which will include Mazda, Subaru, Acura (I forgot to put them in the Honda post) and GAC. I hope you all have enjoyed this so far! Thanks Oppo!
