What car is this?

I was watching Arrival and at first glance, for the split second it was on screen, I though it was a Peugeot 308. But why would they have a Peugeot in America and why then (slightly) crash it.

Looking back now it’s not, but I’m sure one of you guys can tell me what it is.

I don’t really keep up with US market economy cars.

Though from the rims/ hubcaps I guessed it was a Nissan.

It’s a Versa, also called Tiida outside the US/Canada, it is still in production in Mexico as a sedan only.
