It’s good to see the car that sent me down this rabbit hole in the first place.

That green Neon was crazy fast. I wonder what the set up is with that.

I know right. Shame the driver got banned.

Banned? Why?

I don’t understand how it managed to keep up against those gnarly AWD holeshots.

Power to weight I guess. As for being banned:

Just one bump too many.

I’m guessing an SRT4 swap, and wicked sticky tires, you can tell they’re pretty wide for a Neon too, those aren’t 195s that’s for sure,

They banned him for lightly tapping a slower car, and getting tackled? The driver of that Ram is a pussy and a sore loser.

This was like the 100th time he’s hit someone.

Sounds LSish but the Audi guy has like 4 different V8 A4s and the Audi 4.2 is a sort of drop in swap from what I can gather.

Is the 4.2 really a drop in? I’m having such bad ideas right now

Yeah. Mounts are the same apparently and it all just wires up. Also it’s a lot more common then I thought going by its prevalence on Audi forums.

But it was a tap. The other guy did more damage to his truck when he hit the Neon. It’s short track racing you can’t expect zero contact. If you want no rubbing go autocross.

Honestly I don’t know what the rules are and I don’t think contact is banned but out of the many videos on that channel, the green Neon is pretty much the only car to ever come into contact with the other car and it’s neither a rare nor accidental event. That said the Neon was undefeated and maybe that last contact was a convenient way to deal with that OP Neon.

It looks a little like they just drive in a circle and don’t really get going that fast

I used to frequent the Audi forums. Have seen about 3 4.2 swaps in various 1990s bodies. Its pretty common. If you search for pictures from Carlisle Import shows of the past 12 years you may find some pictures from Fourtitude website and /or Audiworld taken by either George Achorn or Kris Hansen. Its not obvious on some of the swaps because they were done so well.

The original 1994 V8 quattro had 276 hp and 295 ft lbs. I’ve seen some with tunes and exhaust that had to be well over 300+, not to mention I’ve heard a few have had turbo(s) added.
