Kinja'd!!!

It’s like a Miata, but better!

Definitely will be driving this as much as possible. So far it’s pretty good!

It’s okay I’ll never give up my Miata. I’ll gladly have both though! I will wait until I drive my car again though before I really say which one is better.

I found it on Turo but I actually ended up just renting it directly from the guy. Kinda sketch that way but the dude was real chill and it saved me money. If I get arrested for a stolen vehicle, I’ll know why lol.

Ehh it really isn’t that different. It doesn’t really feel faster. I mean I guess I haven’t pushed it too hard yet but it’s about the same as the Cayman I drove. Where it is definitely faster than my Miata but not a whole lot. Its not effortless speed.

I do like that there is more room inside, it looks better, and it just is a bit more upscale. But I could never get past how expensive these damn things are. I really just feel at home in this car though. It is exactly what my Miata is but a hell of a lot quieter due to the OEM exhaust.

Kinja'd!!!

Enjoy it!

I rented that exact S2k on Turo back in July in LA, had a whole day of canyon fun with it.

Haha that’s hilarious! You have the same issue with second gear? I still haven’t quite figured out why it is so notchy and difficult. Planning to head out towards Malibu tomorrow and hit some canyons.

Yep, same issue! It can be a bit notchy and easy to grind (I did twice when I first started driving it), but its quick to figure out; you just have to be very deliberate with your one-two shift and not rush it too much, as if you’re using a gated shifter. Once your in the canyons you’ll be in second mostly and then third on the faster bits anyways so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Have fun! I think about that Canyon drive in that S2000 almost every day. Truly bucket list stuff.

Haha well I’m spoiled since I’ve done plenty of mountainous driving with my Miata. And I go Canyon driving here in whatever vehicle I have at the time. But of course this should be at least as fun as my own car. Although I wish the exhaust was louder and didn’t sound like it was going to fall off lol.

Fair enough, I’m stuck under a load of snow right now in Toronto so for a good chunk of the year (except when carving through the roads near my cottage in Muskoka, or hitting the track during the summer months), I’m stuck driving the boring grid of streets that is the GTA.

Eveyone in SoCal (even in Cali in general) is blessed with fantastic roads just a stones throw from the city. Not to mention the weather is much nicer to boot!

Yup, hence why I want to move here to LA. Pretty hard to enjoy driving at home in NJ during the winter too.

Fun day today in the canyons. Actually had some sun too finally. I think something is wonky with the clutch but who knows. Still fun as hell!
