My Vespa dash has lights that only work on the left hand side. The turn signals all work, but the dash indicator only blinks left. But sometimes I ride in the rain, and magic happens.

Kinja'd!!!

I checked it out when I upgraded my headlight, and the dash unit is basically a circuit board they sell as a unit at $259.

The only Vespa shop/dealer in town says it can’t be fixed. But my rainy miracle says it can!

What say you Oppo-repair or replace?

Well I have only had 1960s and a 1978 P200E so I don’t know.

So...if it’s not working, can you just hose it down and it’ll work?

Have you looked at the circuit board yourself? I know there’s some things an untrained person can spot. If so you could attempt to DIY or take it to a TV repair place or something.

Repairing it might be as simple as re-soldering a joint or two on that circuit board. ...assuming that it’s not encapsulated, that is.

How many attempts did it take to catch the light illuminated? I have nothing constructive to add.

Anytime I’ve ever experienced weird, nonsensical electric issues, it’s either been bad/missing grounds or fried circuit boards. Fried circuit boards usually aren’t fixable. I once had a Corvair that randomly would lose its brake lights. I added two ground ribbons to the engine and they started working perfectly.

Could buy a cluster used and swap it in yourself?
