First off,

. Second, way to backtrack pretty much only saying its not as fun as a Supra.
.... But while the Supra was tuned to deliver fun behind the wheel, the SC was only good at straights. Yes, most people buy grand tourers to drive them on the highway, but when the power is close to 300 hp (224 kW), good handling is a must.
And, yes – probably the SC should not be classified as a sports car, but when you have all the characteristics of such, you have to compete against the best. Some say the SC was a nicer, more luxurious Supra, we say it was a slower and heavier Supra.
Way to lump it in with the Mustang II

The amount of times that article either said “it’s a GT car” or “it’s not a sports car” is hilarious. Either way it shouldn’t be on that list as with most of what is on the list since most of them aren’t sports cars.

Mainly because Lexus let it mold on the vine so long during at a time when cars were changing rapidly it had one minor refresh halfway through a 10 year model run and it is not as if Toyota was hurting for cash or was being sold to multiple owners during that time like Volvo or Jaguar. Lexus can build an outstanding car instead they built bland and outdated.

I think its because it lost all sense of sporty-ness and went full golf. But I never hated the looks and read the designers went to the french riviera to study yachts for a month. Dream work vacation right there.

Such clickbait. The SC400 is a bonafide Grand Tourer. I can’t believe how many enthusiasts STILL don’t get the difference between the two.
A Jaguar F-Type is not a sports car, it is a GT. A Lotus Exige is not a GT, it is a sports car. They have such clear intentions and yet people STILL whine about grand tourers not being nimble enough and sports cars not being comfortable enough.
