I’m already ready for the Edison light trend to die in a direct-current fire.

That shower got worse the longer I looked at it. Still would rather that shower pan than the Q-Tip chandelier.

My grandparents have an old wagon wheel chandelier, it came with the cottage, so it made sense to keep being an old house.

I don’t like to drop acid in the morning (save it for the late-afternoon of a really, really happy day) so that shower would not work for me.

I’m getting motion sickness looking at that shower pan.

That light is very practical, you can just half hitch around that belaying pin and BOOM! You’ve trimmed your light.

If that shower isn’t going to have some color added and a Richard Avedon George Harrison on the wall nearby, I’m deeply disappointed.

Wagon wheel chandeliers are back? When I was a kid, a relative had a couple in their very 70s house. I recall it being like this:

Or this:

Kinja'd!!!

Seemed a little goofy even to my young eyes. What’s next. green shag carpeting and orange countertops?

I can sort of grudgingly accept a wagon wheel chandelier if it’s actually made with candle-style fittings and a close-to-real wagon wheel. The ones which are not even trying to look like a real wheel... WTF.

Everything old is new again, we just went through a mid-century modern revival, why not the 70s?

I have a question. Why are Deep Space 9 chandeliers about the size of the original studio model not a thing?

Kinja'd!!!

Because: they should be a thing. It’s bullshit they’re not.

You want Edison Light overload, go check out the American Pickers store in Nashville it is lit with Edison Bulbs and looks like a night club not a retail space.

Well on the upside, when you look down and throw up, it’s easy to rinse it out.

These may have been older for all I know. I will always associate them with a 70s dining room full of heavy Mediterranean style furniture.

The ones sold at Pay-N-Pak or wherever probably weren’t high on authenticity.

Because not as attractive?

Maybe that will be the next thing for the olds to sell to the millennial hipster set. It’ll still be labeled “mid century” (I’ve seen 70s houses with this label) too.

The chandelier in my parents lobby at the shop has Edisons and it actually works really well there.

Yep, I bought one and returned it. 2200k is just too warm, and it was definitely not a “60W replacement” (probably put out half the lumens). But still cool to see LED tech advancing so far.

I can totally see them in retail...they just don’t work for me at home. They’re either too warm (2500k or lower) and/or too harsh due to the exposed filament. A cool effect in the right setting, but in our EIK, it wore me out within a day.

and LED tech is so cheap! just ordered 150 feet of LED strip lights for $40 from banggood. lol

I’ve never ordered from that site. Mainly because I’m on a work computer and don’t want it misinterpreted...
