Kinja'd!!!

Apparently this has gone viral on Drivetribe , pictures of me exiting cars like a BAMF . And, since you guys were the original crew that asked for it, I’ve been really busy exiting a lot of cars lately. Because I owe everything to Oppo.

I think I’m just going to quite the whole automotive journalism gig altogether, and simply post glamour shots of me getting out of automobiles. It’s a lot easier to do, and seems to be what the internet is expecting from my BAMF mug these days.

Imagine getting so many followers that I can email carmakers and ask them to lend me press cars solely to be seen exiting them. Imagine if carmakers re-engineered their interiors to make sure exiting like a BAMF could be performed more smoothly. Man, that would be a dream come true.

I see myself at a carshow event sitting next to fellow automotive journalists:

Ha! Wouldn’t that be great? Without further do, here is Exiting Cars Like a Bad Ass Motherfucker Part II - the Opposite Lock edition.

Kinja'd!!!

Ah yes, the 2017 Volvo S90 . It’s a car I like a lot. In this shot I was underneath Québec city’s Chateau Frontenac, and there was a security guard telling me: “sir, you can’t park there, you’re blocking the way”

Then I exited the Volvo.

Kinja'd!!!

This one was a taken a while back actually, when I started Clavey’s Corner . The Mazda MX-5 is a great car, but if you’re a BAMF, you’ll have a hard time fitting in it.

The door broke off after I closed it.

Kinja'd!!!

Ah yes, the upcoming Civic Type R. We’re all excited for this thing, aren’t we? This was during a special Honda launch event the evening before the 2017 Montreal International Auto Show - and I actually had an audience watching.

I do remember hearing a long silence in the room after exiting this one. Not sure why.

Kinja'd!!!

The Subaru Legacy . This was taken in the middle of a public space, where usually a lot of people walk around. Somehow, as Myle and I were shooting this, everyone stopped moving - “hold on everyone, let this man exit his car”.

Kinja'd!!!

This is an interesting one, since it was Myle’s idea. I think he liked the idea of me walking straight towards the camera as if I was about to rip it into pieces using my bare hands.

Not sure who’s more bad ass in this, me or that Chrysler .

Kinja'd!!!

In this one I was just checking with Myle if this mallfinder was parked properly. Seems like I can’t get away from looking like I’m about to rip someone’s head off.

Kinja'd!!!

The Volvo XC90 is probably the most desirable SUV on the market right now. How can I not walk out of this thing with style?

Kinja'd!!!

I got an email from Porsche yesterday telling me I can no longer borrow press cars because I drove the Macan on a closed circuit. Perhaps I can send them this shot and have them re-evaluate the situation.

Seriously, go big on this thing because this is the type of stuff the internet goes crazy over now. We all know you’re only half joking with that opening!

Yeah well Drivetribe is going nuts over it.

“Because I owe everything to Oppo.” Damn right, and don’t you forget it...

TIL that it’s physically impossible to exit a Miata like a BAMF.

I always make sure I stare into the distance whenever I exit a vehicle.

The S90 exit is the best shot, almost worthy of a spy film. The Civic and 300 exits just look like you were in a hurry to get to the rest room at the rest stop. :P

Still, I’d say you’re career is off to a good start.

Dude, we should start our own company - BAMF Media. All it does is show pictures of people exiting cars like a BAMF. If the Drivetribe is any indication, the internet will go insane over it. Then you could get rich and famous, quit actual journalism, and focus solely on the art of exiting cars.

I’m interested. How do we make this happen?

Um... Build a web site, regularly upload pics of people exiting cars like a BAMF, put ads on it, a miracle occurs, and we’re all rich? I don’t know, I’m just the idea man. :)

How did I miss this? The one with Chrysler proves that you’re a true master of the vehicle exit. No need for a fancy car or fancy clothes.

Do you have to remind yourself to act natural? The one with the rolls looks like you knew it was coming. Or do you just step out thinking “these cars should thank me for this, okay take the picture now.”

I know there is global warming going on and all that, but keep your pants on. Everything else is spot on. If you like shorts, keep doing it. It seems to have a “I just finished 18 holes and was 22 over.”

I’m going to have to get me wife to snap some photos of me getting out of our mini van. Usually when I get out looking like I’m going to rip someone’s head off, it’s because the kids are bickering.

Cheers!

Don’t forget people exiting planes, exiting stores, using...things... like a BAMF. BAMF International definitely has cross platform potential.

Respectfully, guys “dudes” with sunglasses exiting marketing-hyped SUV Mom-Mobile variants that they lease are not “BAMF”. Not even close.

This is a BAMF.

Study close. No iPhone. No Navigation system. No spell check. He always wears a fine tailored suit and hand-made Italian shoes. His car has an Ash Tray, a V-12 and a skilled mechanic that use to work for his Father. For everything else, he has “people”. He looks the other person squarely in the eyes when he speaks to them, talks very little other than to say “thank you” and is always referred to as “Mr.”. He doesn’t have a Tiger Fish “tattoo’d” on his arm...he has a scar from saving one stuck on the shore of the Congo River.

Simply, He is whom The Most Interesting Man in the World had as an Uncle when he was a very young boy growing up.

...and BTW, this is his distinguished wife.

I Can Haz Cheezburger started as cute cat pictures and that’s it. Later it diversified into other things, like There I Fixed It and so on. I’m thinking a similar progression for BAMF Media like what you describe - start with exiting cars, then expand to other things.
