They spent all this time touting how the Challenger GT was so great and how “there are now parts of Russia that can hear america” but they only offer it with the V6. The hell guys

True. I also can’t see how it would be that difficult to offer with the V8 - doesn’t the Charger R/T have an AWD option?

it used to. not anymore.

its a height issue. then cant make the motor/front drive shafts/diffs low enough in the car to fit under the hood.

They only offer the v8/AWD option in the police package version now.

Fuel economy and take rate are too low. It would get rated at 15/23 mpg at best. An SUV can get away with that and offers a lot more value than a coupe as thirsty as a Ram 1500 and no performance or luxury to back that thirst up.

That’s still the biggest reason why many FWD cars don’t offer AWD. Fuel economy is the #1 metric unless people shop Premium, Utility, or Truck (all of which are higher profit, trending, and easy sales).

FCA must’ve had too many V6es and AWD drivetrains in inventory.

Definitely lame without the V8.

Your first mistake was expecting Dodge to make a good decision. If you’re really interested in AWD muscle, Durango srt might be your thing

After they claimed it was a “Muscle Coupe.” I think what Russia can hear is Chrysler trying too hard.

They dont offer any V8/AWD options. No one bought them.

I wonder if it would fit under a bad-ass looking hood scoop?

And, the cop V8/AWD version is the old 5-speed automatic, not the current 8-speed.

I see how it could appeal to someone in the snow belt. But I’d take a WRX over a Challenger GT any day.

no it wouldnt. you would have to raise the motor at least 6 inches to make it work (how big is a diff and axles? especially ones that would handle that torque with anything resembling longevity. )

On the old 4/5 speeds the diff was on the end of the Trans. The shaft went back up front inside the Trans housing. Not sure what the setup is on the 8 speed.
