I get the feeling that this was an abandoned project. Like the owner had plans for it, and stripped out the inside of the box before realizing that the transmission needed work, and all the money he was going to spend on it had to go towards the transmission. And now that’s burned through his whole budget and he’s forced to sell it. :(
